The WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis, at the Doherty Institute in Melbourne, is seeking an experienced epidemiologist for the newly established Link-2-HepCare project.
Link-2-HepCare is a translational research project that will design and evaluate a data-driven, systematic approach to the prioritisation and follow-up of hepatitis B and C cases, to support early linkage to care and reduce the incidence of liver cancer. The project will be delivered in partnership with the Victorian Department of Health, utilising notifications data within Victoria’s public health surveillance system (PHESS). The project will also explore enduring linkage of PHESS data to MBS and PBS data to define the cascade of care more clearly across diagnosis, follow-up, monitoring and treatment and allow targeted, risk-based intervention for cases who are not engaged in care.
This part time (2 days per week) opportunity is perfectly suited to someone:
· with experience in the longitudinal analysis of complex health datasets,
· with great communication and relationship building skills,
· who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
