Notice of AEA 2022 Annual General Meeting

Dear Members

You are invited to attend the AEA Annual General Meeting (AGM), followed by the Ian Prior Oration and cocktail reception.

All events will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, within the Population Health Congress programme. If you are in Adelaide, you are welcome to attend in-person – even if you are not registered to attend the Population Health Congress. We invite members who will not be in Adelaide to join online via Zoom.

Annual General Meeting
Wednesday 21st September 2022, 17:15 – 18:00 (ACST)
Adelaide Convention Centre, Room E2 and online via Zoom.

Ian Prior Oration
Wednesday 21st September 2022, 18:00 – 18:45 (ACST)
Adelaide Convention Centre, Room E2 and online via Zoom.

This year’s Ian Prior Orator is Professor John Lynch. John is a Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Adelaide, South Australia, and a Visiting Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Bristol. After 20 years of studying and working in North America, he returned to Australia in 2009 and was awarded the prestigious NHMRC Australia Fellowship. In 2015, he was elected as Fellow of the Australia Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. John’s research interests span health and development, social and health inequality, child maltreatment, pragmatic RCTs and quasi-experiments of early life interventions, large scale linked data systems to enhance evidence-based public health and producing epidemiological research that is useful in improving policy, practice, and service delivery.
