The Pharmacoepidemiology Research Network is hosting a one-day Symposium for researchers, healthcare providers, and others with an interest in the utilisation and safety of medicines and medical devices.
The keynote speaker will be Eelko Hak, Professor of Clinical Pharmacoepidemiology in the Department of PharmacoTherapy, Epidemiology and Economics at the University of Groningen. Professor Hak is a member of the Dutch Health Council Committee on Vaccination as well as the Foundation BEBO Medical Research Ethics Committee, and he directs the University of Groningen’s Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences’ Pharmacoepidemiology track. His main research interest is in methods to deal with confounding in observational research, however he has also been leading clinical trials of universal influenza vaccines.
Other speakers will report on recently completed pharmacoepidemiological research, discuss work in progress, introduce upcoming projects, and consider methodological issues.
