The Pharmacoepidemiology Research Network (PRN) is hosting a one-day Symposium at St Margaret's College, Dunedin, New Zealand, for researchers, healthcare providers, and others with an interest in the utilisation and safety of medicines and medical devices.
The keynote speaker will be Dr Anders Hviid, a senior pharmacoepidemiologist who has worked on observational studies of vaccine and drug safety at Statens Serum Institut, Copenhagen, Denmark, since 2001. His research utilises the unique Danish nationwide population registries. Dr Hviid is responsible for a number of landmark studies on the putative associations between childhood immunisations and serious adverse events such as autism (see https://en.ssi.dk/news/news/
Other speakers will report on recently completed pharmacoepidemiological research, discuss work in progress, introduce upcoming projects, and consider methodological issues.
